Right on to Twitter's value as feed. The business applications of that are great fun to play around with, as are the compositional possibilities in general. The embedded twitter gadget is a thing to love--and to explore in all sorts of new ways.

"Getting" Twitter at first is definitely the hard part. I have suggested using the "track [keyword]" feature to help people build up their network to the point where it's usable almost immediately.

@Barb - I definitely post my "I am eating ___ for dinner." type posts, but the majority of the Tweets I get/send are learning or music related, if that helps you decide to check it out or not.

I can get behind a lot of the social media finding their way out of the 2.0 bubble. RSS feeds have basically consumed my life. I check Facebook at LEAST daily, and I send more e-mails than most people I know. But I shudder to even think about starting to twitter. I do not want to give ANYONE that much access to what I'm doing at any given moment.

Especially given that potential employers are placing so much emphasis on your online presence. "Getting drunk @ So-and-so's party" just doesn't present a good image.

I'll just be over here. If anyone wants to know what I'm doing, they can call my cell phone (which probably doesn't have reception) and ask.
