		<description>I finished my Ph.D. in 2004 and can honestly say that in all my years of formal education, I had exactly one class that used a &quot;Learning Management System&quot;. How is that possible? It wasn&#039;t like I was going to Luddite universities (unless Purdue University fits that description).

The whole industry smells like snake oil: something that I didn&#039;t need until the salesman came to town.</description>
