Lots of companies have employees on the road. Whether they’re delivering pizza, picking up packages, or making household repairs these road warriors need to be in constant contact with their home base. Of course, there are companies who make expensive business tracking software to manage mobile employees and streamline their routes. But what about the little guy? The small business with a next-to-nothing budget? There may be a solution.
Bre Pettis, the vlogger for Make magazine and an UberNoggin supreme, may have come up with a solution. Mologogo, free web-based location tracking, allows folks with GPS enabled cell phones to post their location to a website, twitter it, or any other of a number of applications. If your phone has 911 service it’s GPS enabled.
Bre suggests it as a useful way to let your friends know who you are but I’m thinking this is a great solution for small businesses with employees on the road. This combination of free software would allow drivers to post their current position back to the office, plan their route, and track their position in relation to their next stop.
How could your business use a mashup like this?
